Our Mission:
A Better Life for Homeless Cats!

Welcome to Better Life Cats, a recently established feline-focused organization in Polk County, Florida. I'm Amy, currently overseeing the well-being of over 150 cats. I'll be the first to admit, I don't have all the answers, and perfection is not my goal. What I do have is a deep compassion for these cats and a steadfast commitment to improving their lives.

Caring for this many cats has stretched my resources, and I recognize that sustaining their well-being requires a collective effort. So, a warm welcome to you, and thank you for showing interest in our nonprofit. I hope you'll join us on this journey and consider supporting our cause.

Donate Food

Our program runs on donations. If you can donate these food items, we would be eternally grateful!

Our feline friends indulge in Friskies canned food, with their favorites conveniently listed on our Amazon registry. Additionally, they relish Purina Complete Cat Chow, consuming a total of 180 cans per day and 32 bags of dry food per month. For cost-effective options, Sam’s Club is our go-to, offering both Friskies Gravy and Cat Chow at the most affordable prices.

Frequently asked Questions

Do you use kennels?

I understand that kenneling animals can be a sensitive topic for some individuals. However, it's crucial to emphasize that kenneling is a necessary practice in our context. The cats we care for often arrive unaltered and may carry issues such as fleas, mange, parasites, infections, and fungus. To prevent the potential spread of these concerns, it becomes counterproductive for them to share the same living space. This precaution is particularly vital as it minimizes the risk of breeding or reinfection, which could impede the progress towards adoption or alternative living arrangements. It's important to note that kenneling is not a long-term solution, and we strive to incorporate playtimes whenever possible to ensure the well-being of the animals in our care.

How can I help?

You can help through financial contributions, food donations, volunteering your time, purchasing fundraiser merchandise, offering sponsorships, or even just by engaging with our websites, social media pages, and videos. Every bit makes a meaningful impact in supporting our ongoing efforts. Your time, empathy, and compassion are deeply appreciated. Together, we hope to address challenges and collaborate in creating a better life for these cats. Thank you for your consideration and support.

Do you offer adoption?

Yes!  The cats/kittens that have been socialized are available on our website for adoption.
